As a writer, I have been stressed by the standards of submission-based websites and the thought of posting on a free forum. Free forums get your word out there, but they do not count as credit in your portfolio if you are looking to move forward in your writing career. The problem with many submission-based websites is that your material is only accepted if it strictly adheres to their vision. If you write a piece that is controversial, disagrees with their mission statement, or is considered too dark– it is often kicked to the curb. I developed The Writing Cabin as a home base for quality writing regardless of genre or viewpoint. The Writing Cabin doesn’t hold one vision, but it welcomes all. As my other focus is to use The Writing Cabin as a place where your work holds merit and becomes a published piece, the material published will only be at the same standard as we hold ourselves– the utmost quality and very best that it can be.
